Good Friday in 2015 is on 3 April. Like ANZAC Day, there are some restrictions on selling alcohol on Good Friday in Victoria. Good Friday isn’t given the same significance as ANZAC Day under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic).

The liquor restrictions on Good Friday are controlled by the default or ordinary hours for each kind of liquor licence and permit.

Packaged liquor and late night (packaged liquor) Not at all
Wineries and breweries
(wine and beer producer licence)
Not before 10am
Not after 11pm
General and late night (general)
On‑premises licence and late night (on-premises)
Restaurant and cafe
Not before midday
Not after 11pm


By default, BYO permits and pre-retail/wholesale, renewable limited and temporary limited licences don’t have the same Good Friday liquor restrictions as the other licences and permits.
